Man thinks he is all powerful until he’s not- when he realizes the fragility of his existence within the confines of the universe.
How man treats the environment,
how he sees himself as superior.
How this relationship also reflects onto culture and perspective on how we treat ourselves. That we can be treated like objects as inputs and outputs of science and medicine. However, we are in fact creations of a nature that is so much more powerful, intricate and beautiful than we can see.
How special is it that you can exist? That you can have thoughts? That you can breathe? Have you ever thought about that?
Being trans is this thing where you also confront this question of what is natural? Is it natural to change your body when you were born another way? What if we pose the question: What is natural?
Is it natural to pretend to be something you’re not?
Or… be what you are?
If you come face to face with a tiger, a bear, a wolf or something in nature that can kill you. Is that a natural death? It is in the nature of the wild to be what it is and do what it is.
As is with ourselves, it is in our nature to be who we are.
The universe is what it is, and while we can say there are consistencies to how we measure it and think - what it is, we cannot ultimately know what it is. We can only acknowledge that it is.
So I have nothing to say today except to ask you to pose this question:
What is nature to you?
What is in your nature?
How can you respect it?
How can you be more natural in your skin?
How can you be more of who you are today?
